A brace each by Nigerian forward Emmanuel and his strike partner Vinoth Kumar fashioned Hindustan Aeronautics Sports Club’s thumping 4-0 win over defending champions KGF Academy in the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Sunday.

The victory also helped the Aircraftmen move to the top of the league table with nine points from four matches, while KGF have only two points from four games.

Like in their previous game against Students Union, the Nigerian trio of Emmanuel, Jagaba Hamza and Kingsley proved too hot to handle for their rivals.

HASC drew first blood in the 20th minute as Emmanuel latched onto a pass from Vinoth and outwitted KGF goalkeeper Navin to slot the ball home. They doubled the lead nine minutes later with Kingsley providing a through pass to Emmanuel whose shot was parried away by Navin, only to see Vinoth tap in the rebound.

HASC consolidated their position with three minutes to go for the break. Emmanuel made the most of a perfect cross from the left flank by Ramesh and got the better of Navin with ease. Vinoth completed the tally in the 64th minute.

Earlier, SAI edged out Jawahar Union 2-1 in an ill-tempered A Division tie.  Rajib Dev put SAI ahead in the 35th minute. They added the second in the 47th minute with Saroj Roy converting a spot kick. Desai pulled one back for Jawahar Union in the 65th minute.

Monday’s matches: ‘A’ Division: LRDE vs ISRO (1.00 pm). Super Division: MEG vs Postal (3.00 pm)
