Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India staged a protest in Bangarpet on Friday demanding immediate asphaltation of Sulikunte-Mageri Road.

There are many villages on either sides of the sulikunte-Mageri stretch and people from these places travel to Kolar almost everyday. But the stretch has been completely worn out as a result, frequency of bus services has dwindled over tehe years.

Potholes and crater dot the stretch and riding on this road is a hell, complained the protesters.

As a result, to reach Kolar, people have to travel to Bangarpet, which is actually a detour. “This requires more time and money,” rued the protesters.

Though foundation stones have been laid earlier to repair the road nothing much has been done in this regard, the protesters complained.

They submitted a memorandum in this regard to  Zilla Panchayat Technical Division chief engineer Ramakrishnappa.
