JOIN USVarious organisations have condemned the move of the Madikeri Urban Development Authority (MUDA) for convening a meeting to okay the comprehensive development plan (CDP) for Madikeri town on January 17.
As many as 140 applications have been filed opposing the CDP. Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Cauvery Sene convener Ravi Changappa said the CDP, which aims at the expansion of the town will harm the environment. The MUDA has not considered 140 applications objecting the CDP. To obtain permission from environment department, the CDP has not shown river, forest in its project plan, he alleged.
Field Marshal Cariappa and General Thimmaiah Forum member Major (retd) B A Nanjappa said the MUDA has not considered objections to the CDP.
Cricket tournament
Kedambadi cup tennis ball cricket tournament will be held from April 20, said Kedambadi Cricket Club president Mukunda.
Speaking to presspersons here recently, he said the tournament will be between Gowda families.
