BSP meet in B'lore on Feb 10

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati will preside over the party’s convention of southern states in Bangalore on February 10, said Karnataka State unit president Marasandra Muniyappa.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, he said Mayawati would arrive in the City on February 9 and leave on February 11.

The convention being conducted in view the Assembly elections will discuss the Bill on Reservation in Promotions for SC/STs-2012.

The Congress, the BJP and the Samajwadi Party have been stalling the passing of the Bill in the Lok Sabha. BSP supremo Mayawati, however, has appealed to the President to convene a special session of Parliament to pass the Bill, said Muniyappa.
