Woman, son crushed under lorry

They were on their way for festival shopping

The victims, Lakshman (32) and Jayamma (55), residents of Garvebavipalya were on their way for Deepavali shopping.

The accident occurred as the tanker rammed into the two-wheeler they were riding. They fell on the road and were run over by the tanker.The driver of the tanker fled from the spot and the police seized the vehicle later. People blocked the road in protest for sometime.

Police said Lakshman was a field officer with Vodafone and also an LIC agent. He is survived by wife Padma, children Mohit (5) and Darshini (2).

Techie robbed
A software engineer was robbed of his electronic gadgets and gold ornaments worth Rs 75,000 near JP Nagar 4th stage on Thursday night.
Police said, Prince Olkatty was walking to home at around 10.45 pm, when two robbers intercepted him at knife point, snatched his laptop, mobile phone, gold chain, a gold ring and Rs 600 cash.

Necklace snatched
A duo on a motorcycle snatched a gold necklace worth Rs 75,000 from a woman at Domlur on Thursday night. Police said the victim Jayalakshmi and her husband Selvam were walking towards the bus stand when the incident took place.
