According to the police, John was a servant with Roohie Fairoz who stays at a house on B Street in Lingarajapuram. Roohie had kept jewellry worth Rs four lakh in an almirah.
John who had noticed this managed to secure the almirah key and stole the jewellry when no one was in the house. Based on a complaint, the police secured John for an interrogation. He spilled the beans when police grilled him.
