JOIN US Even as the world celebrated Valentine’s Day, a 26-year-old youth Shabeer Ahmed Rizvi jumped to his death from the fourth floor of a commercial complex that housed his office in Adugodi, on Thursday.
Shabeer who worked as a team leader at a private firm was a native of Bhopal.
In depression over his relationship with a girl, Shabeer is alleged to have taken this extreme step.
The police who found a suicide note in his pocket said the identity of the girl was not revealed. Shabeer had mentioned that the girl was not responsible for his death.
Shabeer, a resident of BTM Layout, was at office as usual on Thursday. A security guard had seen him engaged in a long conversation over the phone around noon.
“He was speaking over the phone in the office lobby. Even before I could make sense of it, he disconnected the phone and jumped off the window,” he added.
The police who arrived at the spot, rushed Shabeer to St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, where he was declared brought dead.
Shabeer’s elder brother, however, claimed no knowledge of his relationship with any girl. The police said phone records and CCTV footage will be examined to arrive at a conclusion.
