Mulbagal: The district central cooperative bank has extended a whopping Rs 4 crore loan to 96 Stree Shakti Sanghas in the taluk, said DCC Bank director K V Shankarappa.
Speaking after disbursing cheques towards the loan to the members of Sanghas in Gokunte village of the taluk on Friday, Shankarappa said that the financial assistance would help women become self-reliant in their lives. He said that girls were being married underage in rural parts as a result of which their education was being curtailed.
Municipal president M R Murali said that members of the women's groups should return the loan on time and thus contribute for development of the bank.
