Most teenagers watch porn on mobile phones: Survey

 With mobile phones penetrating deep into the hinterlands of the country, it appears that teenagers are making the maximum use of their gadgets.

 One result of this has been an increasing use of the mobile phones by youngsters to watch pornographic material, a recent survey by a non-profit organisation, RESCUE, has revealed.

According to the survey, close to 52 per cent of the teenagers watch porn on their mobile phones.

 Conducted in two locations of rural Bangalore and rural Mysore, the survey also states that the rest watch porn on home computers (8 per cent), internet cafes (17 per cent), television sets (six per cent), theatres (nine per cent) and on DVDs (eight per cent).

 While 70 percent of the boys watched porn in the form of movies, the rest watched pictures.

The survey was conducted in 90 percent of colleges in the district of Chamarajanagar (47 colleges), two taluks of Mysore (20 colleges) and 14 colleges in Bangalore covering about 1,000 students. 

Pornography is illegal in India under IPC 292 and IT act of 2008 (67,67a).
