Entrepreneurial abilities come out

After months of examinations, the students of Dayananda Sagar Institutions (DSI) finally got a chance to let their hair down and enjoy ‘Entrepreneurship Week’ or ‘E-Week’. Initiated by the ‘National Entrepreneurship Network’ and conducted by ‘Aura: Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre’ of DSI, the week-long fest was aimed at creating awareness and promoting a sense of entrepreneurship among students.

Interestingly, DSI also houses many student entrepreneurs like Shubham Sinha, a first-year engineering student, who owns a movie based production house called ‘Teenager Productions’; Anad Naik and Eric Samuel, third-year engineering students, who run a photographic company called ‘Elienai’ and many others.

More than 45 students kickstarted the fest with a flash mob raising awareness about ‘E-Week’ among students. Each day had an interesting event. One event that was held for the very first time at DSI was the ‘Model United Nations’, which was an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly.

This received a very good response as well. Other events that drew a large of crowd were the ‘CEO connect’ and ‘start your day with an entrepreneur’. This was an interactive session for the students as they got to meet real-life CEOs and learnt what it takes to run a company. Other events like quiz, ‘60 seconds to fame’, painting and photography competitions were also held.

The week also had an art exhibition and ‘photo centre’, which saw many students taking part. A fun event like ‘treasure hunt’ was also held on the campus. This was a huge success as it saw close to 80 teams and more than 200 students taking part. There was also a signature campaign held to create awareness and also give students an opportunity to express their views about the fest.
