Vijaya Bank conducts MSME loan campaign

*Vijaya Bank organised a loan campaign for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on Tuesday. The campaign saw about beneficiaries getting in-principle sanction for loans worth Rs 200 crore. As on December 31, 2012, Vijaya Bank’s MSME loans stood at Rs 10,257 crore, up 31.78 per cent as compared to Rs 7,783 crore as on December 31, 2011.

Lindstrom opens Bangalore centre

*Finnish textile company Lindstrom announced opening of its Bangalore centre, its seventh in India.

Lindstrom India MD Anupam Chakrabarty said, “Previously, Lindstrom’s workwear services had been offered to Bangalore customers from the Chennai service centre. Since demand has been growing steadily, the company decided to invest in Bangalore. Our goal in India is to build a service network to cover all main cities.”

BEL inks MoU with TCOM, USA

*BEL said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with TCOM, USA, for co-operation on developing advanced aerostat surveillance and communication systems to address the Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) requirements of the Indian armed forces, according to a press statement by BEL.

“The combination of TCOM and BEL’s capabilities will allow us to provide cost-effective ISR solutions to the various branches of the Indian military,” the company said.
