Vigilantes assault youth

 In a case of moral policing, two Hindu boys travelling with three girls in a bus were assaulted by a group at Kaup on Wednesday evening.

Rajesh and Srinath, studying in Katipalla College in Surathkal, were travelling with three of their classmate, including two Muslim girls, when a group, believed to be from Muslim community, attacked them. They were returning from tourist spot Rajathadri when the incident took place..

On hearing about this, Bajrang Dal workers gathered in front of Kaup police station and demanded arrest of those behind the incident.

This is the first such incident in Udupi district. Most of the recent incident, which hogged the headlines, were in Dakshina Kannada district.
