A couple from Karwar were moving towards Kolhapur on a business trip, and they were robbed on the way. A case has been registered in Haliyal police station.
Suresh Bhat and his wife Sunita Bhat, residents of Sonarwada in Sadashivgad, were in jewellery business. Two persons, wearing face masks and speaking in Urdu, forcibly stopped them when they were moving by their car.
They took away gold ornaments worn by the couple and a bag containing jewellry.
The bag reportedly contained gold ornaments weighing 3.5 kg, 850 gram solid gold and Rs 7.34 lakh in cash.
