There have been plenty of rumours that Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan will be reuniting on the silver screen — this time, with Karan Malhotra’s upcoming project, Shuddhi, The couple delivered a string of movies years ago — like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Yaadein — and their pairing was received well by movie-goers. There are many who are waiting to see the couple on the screen again.
However, Karan Malhotra dismisses these rumours, saying that the leading lady for his second film hasn’t been selected as yet. Hrithik Roshan, he adds, has been confirmed as a part of the film — but that’s as far as the casting has got. “The leading lady of the film has not yet been finalised. So far, it is only Hrithik Roshan who has been finalised. I can’t talk much about whether Kareena is in the film for as long as Karan (Johar) doesn’t make an official announcement,” says Karan Malhotra.
Nevertheless, it seems that the director — who debuted with the 2012 film Agneepath, the remake of the 1990 film of the same name — has his own ideas of who the perfect face for his heroine would be. He admits that he has his wish list ready. “My fingers are crossed and I hope the best actress, who fits the bill, becomes a part of the film,” he smiles. Karan Malhotra explains that the film will be shot in Mumbai and Uttarakhand. “The film will go on floors by the end of this year — in November, probably. The film will be widely shot in Mumbai and Uttarakhand. It is slated to release in 2014,” he states.
