A 22-year-old man and a married woman, who were missing since Wednesday, were found dead under mysterious circumstances near railway tracks at outer Delhi’s Samaypur Badli on Thursday.

Though no suicide note was found from the spot, but police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Amit and Geeta, 25, who hailed from Bihar’s Saharsa district, were neighbours at Pipal Wala Mohalla in Samaypur Badli, and were labourers.

A passerby found the bodies and informed police around 10 am. “Injury marks have been found on their bodies. The exact cause of death can only be ascertained after a post-mortem,” said M A Rizvi, additional deputy commissioner of police (outer).

The bodies were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, where a post-mortem was conducted. The reports are awaited.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of a love affair and believe that they might have committed suicide. “We have not recovered any suicide note so we are investigating all angles,” Rizvi added.

Amit and Geeta used to work together at a factory at Bawana Industrial Area, but Geeta had recently left the job to work at a factory in Samaypur Badli.
Geeta lived with her husband and three children, and her husband worked with a local tent house.

Police have questioned family members of Amit and Geeta, which revealed that they were missing since Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, locals told police they had seen the couple indulging in a heated argument on Wednesday.
