Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Harsh Gupta conducted an audioconference from his office for over 8,000 officers and staff on election duty at various election training centres across the district on Monday.

He responded to the questions by the election officers and staff, clarified  doubts and asked them to call the district control room at 1077 in case of any complaints and clarifications on the polling day. He said that he would be available at the control room throughout the day and would respond to the problems immediately.

“With police and paramilitary forces deployed for security, no law and order problem would be there. In case of any incidents of violation of model code of conduct, the election staff should immediately call 1077 and inform.

The election staff will be provided with all the basic facilities, including food, water and seating arrangements. All the staff on poll duty should be compulsorily present at  the mustering centre on May 4 at 6.30 am,” the DC directed.

Meanwhile, he asked the election staff to strictly abide by the rules and allow those voters whose names are in the voters list and carry one out of the 23 documents to prove their identity, to exercise their franchise.
