A 17-year-old girl, Ashwini, committed suicide by hanging herself at her Ganapathipura house in Subramanyapura police limits on Thursday.
She was the daughter of Hanumanthappa, a painter and Gowramma, a garment factory worker.
She was studying at JSS College at Padmanabhanagar and had failed to clear the second year PU exams, said the police.
