Woman software engineer from Bangalore commits suicide

A 22-year-old woman software engineer from Bangalore allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the building of a multinational company today, police said.

Ashwini Nair, who had joined the company on June 24, allegedly jumped to death from the seventh floor of the building at Madhapur, they said.

"A suicide note was found near the body of Ashwini, which purportedly stated that she was resorting to suicide and no one was responsible for her death. She also sought apologies from her parents over the incident," Madhapur Inspector P Narayana told PTI, quoting the note.

The exact reason behind her taking the extreme step was still not known and further investigation was underway in this regard, the police official said.

Ashwini's parents have been informed and her body taken for post-mortem. When contacted, a company spokesperson refused to speak on the issue.

An Infosys employee, S Neelima (27), had died after allegedly jumping of a building at the company's office in Gachibowli in August last year.
