Actress Karisma Kapoor pens book on motherhood

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and a mother-of-two, has turned author with her first book, a guide to motherhood filed with post pregnancy tips for women, slated to hit bookstores later this month.

"My Yummy Mummy Guide: From Getting Pregnant to losing all the weight and beyond" by Karisma, has been published by Penguin under its cover imprint Shobhaa De Books.

The same imprint had launched sister Kareena Kapoor's book on style, fashion and glamour in December 2012.

"It's the ultimate go-to guide for motherhood, loaded with tips and tricks for dealing with everything—from health, fitness, beauty and fashion to caring for a newborn, disciplining your kid, managing work, and dealing with school and nannies," says the publisher.

Karisma, also known as Lolo, shares advice ranging from finding the perfect maternity outfits to decorating children's rooms and juggling work life with motherhood to even planning the most stylish kiddie parties.

From the first trimester of the baby to the first semester of school, from growing-up issues to teen fads the guidebook promises to be "the most fun-filled best friend any mother could have."
The book has chapters titled "How to be glam at 40 weeks", "Finding that perfect nanny", "Managing me time" and "Losing 24 kg in 9 months".

Karisma, 39, who has given award-winning performances in films like "Zubeidaa", "Raja Hindustani", "Dil To Pagal Hai" and "Biwi No 1" has co-authored the book with Madhuri Bannerjee. The actress lives in Mumbai with her two children Samaira and Kiaan.
