Residents of Chaman Sarai locality in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district, about 425 kilometers from here, were shocked to see a bunch of girls bundling a youth from their locality into a car and speed away.

The dazed family members later came to know that one of the youth’s alleged abductors was his ex-girlfriend and that he had been abducted since he refused to marry her. The incident occurred on Thursday.

According to reports, the youth, identified as Mohammad Faheem, was having an affair with a girl from Delhi. Faheem and the girl had come closer when the former used to work in Delhi as a tailor.

After a brief affair, the girl asked Faheem to marry her but he kept postponing it giving various excuses, reports said. The girl had also allegedly threatened to implicate him in false cases.

After working in Delhi for a couple of years, Faheem shifted to Ahmedabad, apparently to get away from the girl. The girl, however, continued to monitor his movement. So when Faheem visited his hometown for Eid, the girl got the information.

On Thursday, she arrived at Sambhal in a car with her two friends and located Faheem's house at Chaman Sarai locality. They all spoke to Faheem for a few moments, suddenly pushed him into the car and sped off before the family members and others could even react.

Faheem's brother later lodged a complaint with the police against the girl and her female accomplices, sources said. Police said that a case had been registered and an investigation had been launched.

Though it is common to find girls getting abducted, the incident is a warning for boys who make false promises to girls.
