Mayor B S Sathyanarayana promised on Sunday that the four-kilometre HMT stretch connecting Tumkur Road to Jalahalli will be repaired soon.
A large number of residents, gathered during his inspection of the road, had complained about the bad state of affairs.
He directed the chief engineer of the basic road infrastructure wing of the Palike to complete the repair work within the next 10 days. “This is a stretch which has high traffic density. Plying of heavy motor vehicles and the existence of numerous potholes have made conditions worse. It is difficult for motorists to navigate the road,” the mayor said.
Sathyanarayana asked for a detailed project report to be submitted with details about converting the existing 40 feet road into an 80 feet road.
