'Follow preachings of Swami Vivekananda'

Zilla Panchayat CEO Tulasi Maddineni has called upon the students to follow the preachings of Swami Vivekananda and inculcate in life.

Speaking at ‘Viveka jagruthi’ a workshop for self-esteem development for PUC students (girls) organised by Ramakrishna Mutt here on Wednesday, she said that there are ample opportunities for women to be successful now, when compared to 50 years ago.

She stressed the importance of self respect in each and every activity in life. She insisted students to practice efficiency and skill in every work which they take up.

She said that students should complete their task within a time frame, without delaying it. There is no supplement to hardwork to attain success.

Mataji Vivekamayi, President, Bhavatarini Ashrama, Bangalore and Prof. Raghottam Rao, Director, Human Networking Academy, Bangalore and Dr Vijayalakshmi Balekundri, renowned cardiologist of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, Bangalore was present. Over 600 students participated in the programme.

‘Viveka Prerana’

At a ‘Viveka Prerana’ programme for degree college students, Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake on Tuesday said that there is a need to channelise youth by creating opportunities to them.

Human resource will be instrumental in the development of a country.

When India attained independence, the population of the country was 35 crore, of which, 25 crore were poor. But today out of 120 crore population, about 100 crore have access to food, shelter, clothing. In his key-note address, Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore President Swami Jithakamanandaji said “it is a general statement that a person who does not believe in God is an atheist. According to Vivekananda, atheist is the one who lacks self-confidence.”

“All of us have a responsibility to give back to the society. Those who fail in giving back to the society is considered as a traitor,” he added.

Srinivas Group of Institutions President A Raghavendra Rao said that youth should develop constructive thinking. They should not think about money alone but should dream of well-being of the society.
