JOIN US Three teams from Bangalore stole the show at the grand final of the inaugural 3x3 National Basketball Association (NBA) Jam National college basketball tournament in Mumbai on Sunday.
In the men’s final, riding on the back of young stars Yashas (4) and Kaif (12), Jain University edged out Bharathi University from Delhi for the top honours.
Jain University had beaten KC College 13-9 in the semis.
Not to be left out, Mounts Club too put on a stellar show to overcome Loyola Academy, Hyderabad, 15-5 in the women’s final.
Surana College boys pulled off a narrow 13-11 win over Aligarh Muslim University to bag the boys’ crown. There was heartbreak for the junior girls’ team from Bangalore with the Bangalore All-Stars suffering a 5-9 loss to Pune Tigers in the summit encounter.
All winners got a chance to team up with NBA legends Horace Grant and Ron Harper in an NBA Legends exhibition game to round off an eventful night.
