<p>The High Court of Karnataka on Monday ordered issue of emergent notice to the State government in a petition filed by Karnataka Muslim Sangharsha Samiti seeking permission to prosecute Wakf Board members involved in the alleged land scam.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to the petitioner, the Board members have sold 2.3 acres of land in Annipura (now Lalbagh area) to Bhawarilal for Rs one crore while the market value of the land was more than Rs 20 crore.<br /><br /> The then Corps of Detectives (now Criminal Investigation Department) conducted an investigation and had sought permission from the government to prosecute 10 members of the Wakf Board. <br /><br />However, in a Cabinet meeting held on September 20, 2013, the government refused to grant permission for prosecuting the members. The petitioner has challenged this decision also.</p>
