Modi to campaign in Delhi only for a day

Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will campaign only for a day in the national capital.

Modi perhaps fears his crowd puller tag may come under a cloud in case the party fares poorly in the Assembly polls.

In Karnataka, too, Modi addressed political rallies merely at two places–Bangalore and Mangalore–for he was sceptical of the outcome of the election results, and the BJP did lose heavily allowing the Congress to return to power. The BJP did not perform well in either of the places where he addressed rallies.

The Gujarat chief minister will campaign for four days in Madhya Pradesh (MP), two in Chhattisgarh and three in Rajasthan. Modi will not campaign in Mizoram since the BJP has virtually no presence in the state.

Party vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the BJP has firmed up its plan for the election campaign in the five states.

All prominent party leaders will campaign in these states, where the fight is between “bad governance vs good governance,” he added.

In Delhi, party president Rajnath Singh and Modi will be campaigning for a day, Naqvi pointed out, while sharing the itinerary of prominent leaders who are going to address rallies in the national capital.
