There was a sense of panic among the managers, when hours before his fashion show in the City, designer Rocky S went missing. Quick on their toes, they managed to track down the designer and pin him down for an interaction.

From designing couture, pret, resort wear, styling for films, fragrance to even accessories, Rocky S makes sure that his high-octane career is effortless. A seasoned player in the world of fashion, he responds calmly, “I need to do a lot more. Honestly, after reaching every milestone, I tell myself it’s just a beginning. Fashion is an exciting playfield. I want to explore new realms. There are many diversification plans on my mind. But I want to do justice to whatever I do. Rigorous research and conceptualising are involved before taking a big step forward.”

Now the designer is set to launch himself as a film producer. This has been his dream to give life to stories in form of films. Rocky says that as a debutante, he wants to play it safe before he experiments. “I want to make meaningful cinema, but at first I want to start by playing safe and produce commercial movies that work in the market. No doubt, my movies will be stylish but it will also have a strong message,” he says.

Known to have a good rapport with most artistes in the industry, one wonders if Rocky has to suddenly turn diplomatic now that he is a producer. To which he laughs. “When I first announced that I would start producing films, suddenly all my actor friends started giving me this look like ‘will he cast me?’ But I have always been frank about these things. If the role suits them why not? It’s all a part of the industry, those who are close to me will understand if I don’t cast them,” he adds.

But he is quick to add that his quest in fashion will not stop once his productions start off. He will soon start the second season of the series ‘Style and the City’. Rocky observes that there is certainly no void in the fashion industry. “Considering there are so many international brands coming into the Indian market and each one of it finding its own space says a lot,” he signs off.
