Probe Haryana land deals, says Gurgaon MP

Former minister of state and Gurgaon member of parliament Rao Inderjeet Singh Sunday demanded an independent probe into the land use change of 21,000 acres permitted in the state during past five years.

After opening an office of the Haryana Insaf Manch (HIM) here, Rao Inderjeet Singh said alignments of Gurgaon Master Plan 2021, 2025 and 2031 were changed to give undue benefit to people close to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Hooda's such steps caused losses to farmers to the tune of million of rupees, he said.
The parliament member said his demand also included inquiry into the land deal of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi, that was cancelled by senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka.

He said Khemka is facing action as he is an "honest officer".

The state government has already charge-sheeted Khemka in two cases and is preparing for a third one.

Rao said he would share dais in the Indian National Lok Dal's (INLD) Kurukshetra rally Nov 1.

"It is a social rally to mark the 100th birth anniversary of late deputy prime minister Chaudhary Devi Lal. He was a mass leader, there is nothing wrong to be part of such a rally," Rao said.

He said his option to join or to tie up with any political party, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were open and he would make announcement at an appropriate time but not compromise with the Congress.

To a question over his resignation from parliament, he said, "Party gave me the ticket but I was elected by people, why should I resign?"

He has been accusing Hooda of bias against south Haryana in development works and government jobs.

Rao floated HIM March 3 at a rally in Pataudi, with the party banner proclaiming "fight for justice".

At Sep 23 Rewari martyr rally of Rao Tula Ram (his ancestor), a freedom fighter, he announced his resignation from the party, adding he would not contest the 2014 general election on Congress ticket.

Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998, 2004 and 2009. He became Haryana legislator for the first time in 1977.

He was minister of state for external affairs and minister of state for defence production 2004-2009.
