Needing just a further 128 runs to win with all 10 wickets remaining, Saurashtra are in a commanding position against Karnataka after the end of the third day’s play in their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy here on Monday.

Chasing a tricky 178, the visitors had reached 50 for no loss when stumps were called on the penultimate day.  Karnataka, who resumed the day on 88/1, put up 284 on the board for an overall lead of 177.

The hosts had VR Milind (85) and S Aditya (64 n.o.) to thank as without their contributions, they would have been bowled out far earlier.  Vivek Agath (4/116) impressed with the ball for the hosts.

Brief score: Karnataka: 169 and 284 all out in 98 overs (VR Milind 85, S Aditya 64 n.o., Vivek Agath 4-116) vs Saurashtra 275 and 50/0 Priyajit Chudasama 28 n.o., Jashmin Sitapara 22 n.o.).
