<p> A private airlines employee sacrificed his life to save a woman from being molested by two miscreants in south-west Delhi’s Palam, police said on Thursday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Victim Manoj Kumar Sharma, 25, worked as a technician with Indigo airlines at Indira Gandhi International Airport. Police said, the victim’s body bore multiple stab injuries.<br />The incident came to light around 10 pm on Wednesday when Manoj was on his way back home on a motorcycle.<br /><br />Eyewitnesses told police that while on his way back, Manoj saw a woman was being molested by two persons. He stopped and tried to save the woman from the clutches of the miscreants, they added.<br /><br />When Manoj objected, the assailants started a fight with him.<br /><br />One of them whipped out a knife and stabbed Manoj. He fell and was screaming in pain. Hearing the commotion, some locals rushed to his rescue and found him lying in a pool of blood. Soon they informed police.<br /><br />Police reached the spot and rushed him to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in west Delhi, where doctors declared him brought dead. He was stabbed in the abdomen.<br /><br />“He received grievous injuries in abdomen and one of his stab wounds was on his chest,” said a police officer.<br /><br />A case of murder was registered with the Palam police station. A team has been launched to nab the culprits, police said.<br /><br />The victim stayed with his family at Sadh Nagar in Palam Colony. Manoj is survived by his 72-year-old father Hazarilal Sharma, wife and an 11-year-old son.<br /><br />Auto driver killed<br /><br />An autorickshaw driver was stabbed to death in east Delhi’s Shakarpur late on late Wednesday, police said. The victim was identified as Suraj.<br /><br />The incident came to light when a call was made to Shakarpur police station around 10.15 pm.<br /><br />According to the call, a man was stabbed under a flyover in Shakurpur.<br /><br />Police reached there and found Suraj in a wounded condition. They rushed him to Lal Bahudar Shastri Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.<br /><br />“He was last seen with a person named Sonu. We have launched a manhunt to nab him and are raiding some of his possible hideouts,” a police officer said.<br /></p>
