JOIN USThree members of a family from Bangalore were killed on the spot in a road accident near J Soorapura on Belur-Hassan Road on Monday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Thyagaraj, Kala and Veda, all residents of JP Nagar, Bangalore.
According to police, the accident occurred after a Volvo bus bound for Mysore from Belur collided head-on with a multiutility vehicle (MUV). All the deceased were travelling by the MUV.
Three persons, including two children, sustained grievous injuries in the accident. They were admitted to a nearby hospital.
The MUV was reduced to a heap of metal due to the impact of the collision and police had a tough time in extricating the bodies.
Vehicular movement between Belur and Hassan was affected for some time due to the accident.
