Crown for Carlsen; Anand fifth

World Champion Magnus Carlsen drew his final Rapid round match against Viswanathan Anand to emerge champion in the Zurich Chess Challenge.

The Indian ace, who lost his World title to Norway player in Chennai recently, finished fifth.  

Though Carlsen lost against Levon Aronian and Fabiano Caruana in the closing Rapid Tournament, he was even able to afford an easy draw against Anand. Levon Aronian lost to Hikaru Nakamura in round four, failing to close in on Carlson and finished third behind Fabiano Caruano, who also scored a total of 9 points. Hikaru Nakamura collected 7.5 points to finish fourth.

Boris Gelfand finished in sixth place with 4.5 points.

Final standings (Classic and Rapid): Magnus Carlsen (10 points), 1; Fabiano Caruana (9), 2; Levon Aronian (9), 3; Hikaru Nakamura (7.5), 4; Viswanathan Anand (5), 5; Boris Gelfand (4.5), 6.
