JOIN USCouncil polls: Kota Srinivas Poojary files nomination
Additional Deputy Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma received the paper. Poojary was accompanied by Capt Ganesh Karnik, Mayor Shanker Bhat, former MLA, Padmanabha Kottary on the occasion.
Speaking to presspersons, he said “I was given ticket looking at my service to the party.”
Kota Srinivas Poojary, who has come up from the grass root level rose to the position of Udupi Zilla Panchayat member and Udupi district BJP President. Though contested the elections from Brahmavar twice, he could not make it to the Legislative Assembly. He was elected as the MLC last year for a term of 18 months. The election was necessitated following the demise of Blasius D’Souza.
December 1 is the last date for filing nominations. On December 2, the nominations will be scrutinised and the nominations can be withdrawn by December 4. The election is scheduled to be held on December 18.
