Speeding bus kills woman in Rajanukunte

A woman was killed on the spot after a speeding BMTC bus rammed the car she was travelling by, near Silver Oak Tree in Rajanukunte police limits on Sunday.

According to police, Kadambari (38), a resident of Indiranagar, was heading to her father's house who stays in Rajanukunte. 

The bus, which was coming from Doddaballapur towards Bangalore rammed the car killing Kadambari on the spot. The driver fled the spot after the accident. A case has been registered.

Toddler injured

A toddler who ran onto the road was hit by a BMTC bus near Jai Muni Rao Circle on Magadi Road in Vijayanagar traffic limits on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, Jeevan, 5, was playing on the footpath and ran onto the road and a BMTC bus, which plies on route number 248 (Peenya second stage to City Market), hit the boy, who suffered severe limb injuries.

The passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital and after being given first aid, the boy was shifted to Victoria Hospital. 

The passengers, when enquired, said that the driver was not at fault and the accident was caused due to negligence of the parents, police said. The boy needs to be operated on his thigh, police added.
