Addressing the first-ever public meeting of the Jai Samaikhyandhra Party (JSP) in Rajahmundry in coastal Andhra Pradesh, party president N Kiran Kumar Reddy assured Telugu people that he would stall the process of the state’s bifurcation if he got 25 MP seats.

He told a large gathering at the local Gemini grounds that he would see to the bill being sent back to the state Assembly with that many MPs in hand.

“I hope that the Supreme Court will give an order to send the T-Bill back to the state Assembly for passage,” he said.

“When the Congress high-command held discussions on the Telangana issue, I asked Sonia Gandhi that if the state is divided, on whose name will Congress leaders ask votes. Despite my repeated pleas, the party decided to divide the state.”

He also questioned the BJP’s attitude in colluding with the ruling Congress to pass the bill, despite it being the principal Opposition party. He said the bill was passed in Rajya Sabha despite several parties like the TMC, JD-U and Akali Dal opposing the bill.
