Yvo de Boer says the review process by some 2,500 scientists of climate change research is thorough and credible.
He acknowledged the e-mails did serious damage by fuelling skepticism among those who believe the science is manipulated to exaggerate global warming. De Boer said on Sunday on the eve of a 192-nation climate summit he was confident the conference will succeed.
