<p>With only a day left for the campaigning, BJP candidate for Hassan LS constituency C H Vijayashankar on Monday appealed to the people to give him a chance to serve the people of the district.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking after releasing a party manifesto in Hassan, on Monday, he said the people of the district had given their mandate to the Congress and JD(S) in the previous elections. <br /><br />The voters should vote BJP to power for comprehensive development of the district. If elected, he would prepare a blueprint of the developmental activities to be taken up in the district and work towards it, he assured.<br /><br />It was not important which party had a stronghold in the district. It was important to verify whether the elected representatives had accomplished the assurances showered by him during the last polls, he said.<br /><br />The district was facing problems including drought, depleting water table, drinking water crisis, pathetic roads and a lot more. Though there was a lot of scope for tourism in the district, the sector had not seen any development, despite crores of rupees being sanction, he alleged. <br /><br />He would try to bring a change in the district, if elected by the people, he said. Vijayashankar released a 18-point manifesto during the occasion. Former MLA B R Gurudev, BJP district unit president Renukumar, former president M S Krishnegowda, HUDA former president Navile Annappa and others were present.</p>
