Madholal Keep Walking is a film based on human emotion. Using Mumbai train blasts as the back drop, film-maker Jai Tank has unspools a drama of the human spirit. The Hindi feature film, written and directed by Jai Tank, is being showcased at the 8th Third Eye Asian Film Festival, which started in Mumbai recently. The film will be screened on December 8.

The festival aims to bridge the gap between the Asian Film fraternities and promote Asian cinema. Over 100 feature and short films from 24 countries including Turkey and Japan have participated in this week-long fest.

The focus of Madholal... is on the resilience of the human spirit and the manner in which Madholal comes to term with his fate.

The local train is a metaphor for life. It represents life as an odyssey as each man is for himself. He has to himself put them back together to defeat the purpose of the wrongdoers.

The film features Subrat Dutta as Madholal Dubey. Subrat is a Kolkata-based theatre actor who also won the Best Actor award in the 8th Osian Cinefan Festival 2006 for the Bengali film, Bibar. He also won the Best Actor Award at the Cairo International Film Festival 2009 for Madholal.., where in, the film was nominated along with Kabir Khan’s New York.

Just shot in 27 days, Madholal... got immense acknowledgement at the Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival 2009 in New Delhi. Given only one slot for screening, Madholal... was played thrice on public demand.
