Cricket enthusiasts in the City may be in for some disappointment as the IPL matches scheduled for Friday and Sunday at Chinnaswamy Stadium may be hampered due to heavy rain. Indian Meteorological Department officials have predicted showers over the weekend.

The Met department’s forecast could dampen the Royal Challengers’ spirits as well, as they would have looked at Friday’s match as an occasion to redeem themselves after their losing spree.

Pre-monsoon showers

Bangalore recorded 4.88 mm rainfall on Thursday. Two-wheeler riders were seen taking shelter in most parts of the City all through the day. While many enjoyed the sudden dip in temperatures and cooling pre-monsoon showers, others were forced to start their day late or even reschedule their itinerary because of early morning rain.

The City recorded a maximum of 26.7 degree Celsius and minimum of 20.7 degree Celsius till 5:30 pm.

According to IMD Bangalore Director B Puttanna, the low pressure area which was moving towards the South-east Arabian Sea has halted and is now over north Kerala coast.
This has brought rain to most parts of South Interior Karnataka, including Bangalore. IMD forecasts low-intensity rain for the next three days in the City.
