Task Force recommends show-cause notices

Indian Bureau of Mines Regional Director (Goa) A B Panigrahi told mediapersons on Thursday that the team had visited Karadikolla Iron Ore Mines, Kallahalli Iron Ore mines, Jaisingpur Iron  Ore Mines and Balaji Iron Ore Mines and found that they were not found in accordance with law.

The government has been asked to seek replies from them within 30 days. The team wanted action against illegal crushing activites in Sandur area.

Nearly 20 units have been functioning and they had not taken necessary permissions. Incidents of illegal mining also have come to light, he added.
