Drugs worth Rs 1.5 cr seized

Sources said the two - Shivu of Chennai and Stanely, a resident of Bangalore, - were found carrying Methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA) powder hidden in their suitcases. Both were bound for Malaysia. The officials grew suspicious secured their suitcases for check up.

Two killed in accidents

Found dead

A drug addict was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Maruthi Nagar in Madiwala on Wednesday night. Syed Afzal (27), an auto driver, had walked out of a de-addiction centre recently. His family had fixed an appointment to see a groom for his marriage on Thursday, and Afzal along with his friends had went for a chill out on the eve. Police said that a scuffle might have ensued between them and some one might have hit Afzal on the forehead. The cops have picked up a few and are interrogating.

of four-year-old girl was found in a water sump in Byrasandra on Wednesday night. Sowmya alias Dakshayani, a UKG student was playing in front of her house on 7th Main, 8th Cross in Byrasandra till 5 in the evening. Parents panicked when she did not turn up till 10 pm. After a search, they lodged a missing complaint. However, by 11 pm the body was found in the sump, which had one feet of water. The police are awaiting post mortem report.
