<p>A 55-year-old advertising agency executive was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne assailants at a market in north west Delhi’s Rani Bagh on Thursday. The motive behind the attack is yet to be established, police said.<br /><br />The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash, who worked as a marketing executive with a private company at Pitampura. According to police, the incident took place when he was on his way to a bank at Rani Bank at around 1 pm.<br /><br />“Om Prakash was traveling in an autorickshaw and was going to the bank to submit some cheques,” said a police officer. He had just deboarded the auto-rickshaw at Fauwara Chowk when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.<br /><br />Prakash sustained two gunshot wounds in his chest and collapsed on the ground. “He was rushed to a nearby hospital by the auto-rickshaw driver, but was declared brought dead,” the officer added.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the attackers managed to flee without being confronted. It is also alleged that they opened fire in the air while leaving the spot. </p>.<p>A case of murder has been registered with Netaji Subhash Place police station.<br /><br />Investigating officers have ruled out robbery as a motive behind the incident as the attackers did not try to snatch the bag that Prakash was carrying. <br /><br />His wallet and mobile phone have also been recovered. Police have questioned Prakash’s family and friends, but have not been informed about any personal enmity. </p>.<p>“The attackers are yet to be identified,” the officer added.<br /><br />Prakash’s body was handed over to family after post-mortem at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital. He is survived by his wife and two children.<br /><br /> Prakash is regularly assigned to visit banks for official purpose.</p>
