Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has joined the Supreme Court appointed panel headed by Justice (retd) Mukul Mudgal to look into the allegations of spot fixing and betting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 6.

Ganguly reached here on Wednesday for an elaborate discussion with the committee members on the matter. The former Test batsman was picked to support the committee following Surpreme Court’s directive of including a cricketer of impeccable integrity.

Mudgal confirmed Ganguly joined the investigations on the day of his arrival.
“He (Ganguly) had a meeting with all the committee members at my office. The meeting went very well. We are happy to have him with us.

We will decide the next meeting depending on how the investigations progress. As per the directive of Supreme Court, we cannot be revealing too much at this stage,” Justice Mudgal told Deccan Herald.

Additional Solicitor General L Nageswara Rao, senior advocate Niloy Datta and senior IPS officer BB Mishra are the other members of the committee. However, Ganguly will soon be leaving for England to do television commentary during the five-Test series involving India.
