The woman was admitted to the hospital on December 3 with fever and breathlessness.

While her sample was sent the very next day to NIMHANS lab, the report of her throat sample came on December 10. The hospital authorities said that she was put on oseltamivir immediately after admission and that she was given three cycles of the medicine.

A resident of R S Palya, she was suffering from not feeling well since November 24.
However, the family observed that she had fever on November 28. On December 3, the family took her to their family doctor, who advised them to immediately admit her to the hospital.

The hospital authorities revealed that she had bilateral pneumonia and suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. The woman is survived by her parents and brother.

Meanwhile, four confirmed positive cases were recorded on December 15 taking the total case tally to 1,699.  All the four cases were from the City. Curiously, the daily report sent by the health department to the media houses, did not record this death.
