Last Updated 17 December 2009, 17:06 IST

The event is organised by the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, set up by renowned music conductor Zubin Mehta, at the famous NCPA. It will be Ramkrishnan’s first visit to India after receiving the Nobel prize.

Raman (33), who holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Harvard University, plays violin, so also Melissa, who has been playing the instrument since the age of 3. While Raman plays for the Daedalus Quartet, Melissa plays with the Enso String Quartet, which was nominated for the Grammy this year in the Best Chamber Music Performance category.

Melissa has performed at two previous Sangat festivals. Raman too had performed at the Sangat earlier. Both had accompanied Ramkrishnan to Stockholm for the Nobel prize distribution ceremony.
