5 IAS, 31 IPS officers transferred

The State government on Thursday transferred five IAS and 31 IPS officers. Senior IAS officer G Latha Krishna Rau is the new Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Development Commissioner. She takes the post held by her husband G V Krishna Rau, who retired on Wednesday.

In all, the government transferred five IAS officers. Three senior IAS officers - Rau, Amaranarayana and K R Niranjan retired from service on Thursday.

Following are the new postings of the officers: P Ravi Kumar - Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department; P Manivannan - Managing Director, Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board; Ramegowda - Commissioner for Transport and Road Safety, Bangalore, and S Ziyaullah - Commissioner for Backward Classes Welfare.

IPS transfers

In a major reshuffle, the government has transferred 31 IPS officers including DCP (South-East) of Bangalore in whose jurisdiction a six-year-old girl was raped recently.

DCP (Central) B R Ravikanthe Gowda too has been transferred.

The drunken brawl at Skyye Bar involving Congress MLA Vijayananad Kashappanavar and the ADGP Dr P Ravindranath episode had taken place in his jurisdiction. Dr Ravindranath had also filed a case against Gowda under the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act.
