Professor, children held for 'harassing' maid

A professor of an engineering college and his two children were arrested for allegedly harassing and assaulting a domestic help on Tuesday.

The arrested have been identified as Harishekhar, a professor with APS Engineering College and his two children - Amogha and Akash - both engineering graduates. All are residents of HSR Layout 4th Sector.

According to police, they had employed a maid servant from Mandya two months ago. Days after she started working with them, the trio  started harassing her. They would often assault her and use abusive language even for minor mistakes. They would allege that she was a lazy domestic help and never worked, according to the complaint lodged by the maid. She has also alleged that she was kept in illegal custody.

“We arrested the trio based on the complaint. They would be produced before the court on Wednesday,” said the police inspector Raghavendra S R.
