Humourous acts to come alive

The Cause Foundation is organising a musical, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ on August 30 and 31, 7 pm at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall.

The play is directed by Leila Alvares and the music is by Vivek Menzel. In the ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, the story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his humourous attempts to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions while outside influences encroach upon their lives. The dance directors are Alisha D'Souza and Lionel DeNazareth. Leila Alvares, has from the age of 18, actively been involved in all things musical, including conducting choirs, organizing and producing musical events and for the past 17 years, directing broadway musicals.

The musical features Priya Mendens, Arvind Kasthuri, Prem Koshy, Tuffy, Jude Lazaro, Rahael Thomas, Alisha D'Souza, and Shyju Varkey.  The ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ held the record for the longest-running Broadway musical for almost 10 years. It remains Broadway's sixteenth longest-running show in history. Tickets priced at Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 is available at Supermarket (Brigade Road) and Market Basket (Fraser Town) from August 23.
