Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor across the country in various ways. Sindhi College of Commerce too joined the festivities as the students and faculty members hoisted the Indian national flag.

This year was special for the college as they spoke out against drug abuse in a
campaign titled ‘Say No to Drugs’.

Students took an oath, pledging that all drugs and tobacco will not be entertained in and around the college campus and all the Sindhians will unitedly fight against the use of such items.

The national anthem was sung soon after. Prakash R Narang, chairman and Sanjay L Gera, treasurer of Sindhi Seva Samiti were the guests of honour. The principal, Prakash B Nayak, professor Parvathi Devi, vice-principal Pallavi and principal of the PU College were also present at the event.

The chairman delivered an Independence Day address recalling the contributions made by the leaders to attain the country’s freedom.

This resonated with the youth and took them back to the past. The celebration concluded with the singing of a patriotic song by the college choir.
