This was decided at a meeting of the committee held at Tourism minister Janardhana Reddy’s chamber in Vikas Soudha on Friday.
The celebrations will conclude with a three-day valedictory function from January 27 at Hampi. The committee also decided to hold Sanskriti Utsav in Bangalore on January 12 as part of the celebrations. Youths from different parts of the state will take part in the Utsav. The government is also conducting school children’s excursion to Hampi as part of the celebrations.
Around 1,000 students from each district would visit Hampi. Dr Vishnukanth Chattappalli, secretary of the committee said a visit to Hampi would help students know heritage of the historical place.
Similarly, the committee would conduct series of lectures on contributions of Krishnadevaraya in colleges and universities.
