24 stolen vehicles recovered, 4 held

The Central division police have recovered as many as 24 stolen vehicles worth Rs 1.6 crore by arresting four persons.

The arrested have been identified as Shiva alias Shivalinga, his relatives Dharma and Sundar, all residents of Lakshman Rao Nagar in Audogodi and Mubarak, a native of Tamil Nadu. Twenty cars, three bikes and an autorickshaw have been recovered from the arrested persons.

During the interrogation, the arrested said that they used duplicate keys to drive away the vehicles parked outside houses in residential areas.

Several cases

“The four have several cases against them at various police stations in the City. The arrests were made based on a CCTV footage in which they were found to be driving away a vehicle in Vinayaknagar,” a senior police officer said.

The officer added that four had around 500 duplicate keys in their possession which were used to steal vehicles.  They used to sell the stolen vehicles in Tamil Nadu with the help of Mubarak.
